Thanksgiving is upon us and what a special time of year. This is a time for all of us to step back
and reflect on all the blessings we have to be thankful for and to look at the challenges ahead of
us.
With the many obstacles ahead of us, as a community & as a government, it’s time for us to take a
deep breath and take this short time to relax with our families and friends.
Let there be no mistake, when we look this community, or any community, that it’s foundation is
based upon the family. It is with a strong family that can be defined in many ways that gives us the
strength to move forward. Many times we take this for granted. This Thanksgiving, when you
spend time with your family & friends, give thanks to those family members who are around you.
Cherish these moments as they become special memories as we move through our journey
through life.

If you think about what we have ahead of us, it is staggering. Just holding a family together and
dealing with the life’s frustrations caused by the cost of energy, feeding our families, paying our
medical bills and the overall costs of living is enough to set anyone’s head spinning.
The Virgin Islands have a rich history, with strong & proud people and a foundation that gives us
an advantage. Let’s be thankful for the diversity of this community and the many cultures it offers
which include our Native culture, our Down-Island culture, our Latino culture and our State-side
culture. We all look at issues differently, but when we marry these thoughts we should be thankful
because the solutions are right at our fingertips.

One has to be thankful for our climate which attracts people from all over the world to enjoy the
Virgin Islands, to spend money and to create jobs and to contribute to our tax base.
Some of us are used to the traditional turkey dinner but there are many outstanding native dishes
that complement this traditional dinner. The tastes of the Virgin Islands are truly unique.
You can only experience the Virgin Islands when you have the opportunity to enjoy our local
foods. Of course, this experience is complemented with our local music and comraderie that takes
place during this holiday season.

On behalf of the management and staff of Isle 95 (Sunny 99.5, 104.9 The Mongoose, WSTX) we
hope that this Thanksgiving brings you and your family closer. We want you to re-energize
yourselves to move forward to meet the many challenges, drive safely, be careful and have a
blessed Thanksgiving.
